  • Who or what is Tech Know Training and Tech Know Garage Service?

    We are a UK based Technical Training Organisation that has been in existence since 2007. We offer training courses and technical trainers to huge training organisations and Vehicle Manufacturers, independent garages and via these online platforms. The company is owned and run by Rob Drinkwater, who has been in and around the motor trade since the early 1990s. He started teaching to the trade in 2000, and has taught and written courses for most of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world, as well as some of the most respected training organisations in the UK and Europe. More recently we have taken our courses online, partly due to the Covid pandemic putting a temporary end to Face to Face training, and partly to satisfy a demand for online training worldwide. We still believe that Face to Face training is by far the best medium to get the point across, but we also find that online training can support the Face to Face training by allowing trainees to take on board some knowledge before attending a Face to Face course. Rob is still hands on, fixing cars and developing training based on this. He also attends many courses himself to keep knowledge up to date and relevant. Rob believes that every day is a school day and that we should all aim to learn something new every day. Rob is a keen motorcyclist, plays badminton and golf and is a self confessed petrolhead.

  • Do your prices include sales tax (VAT) etc.?

    At this time we are not VAT registered therefore the price you see is the price you pay.

  • Is there a test at the end of each course? Will I get a certificate when I complete the course?

    Some courses have an end of course exam, which will have a pass mark, if you achieve this pass mark, you will receive an electronic certificate which you can print off. Some courses do not have an end of course exam, these courses will result in you receiving a certificate of training once you complete the course. Owing to the fact we are operating these courses globally, these certificates are not necessarily affiliated with any awarding body or qualification.

  • What access do I get when I buy a single course or a Bundle?

    Single courses gain you access for 6 months from when you buy the course, you can access the course as many times as you like, as many people in your organisation as you like can access the course and view it, but only the person subscribed will receive a certificate in their name. If you require multiple people in your organisation to be subscribed, please let us know and we can work out a group discount based on the number of employees you have. The 'All You Can Eat' bundle allows you full access to ALL of our available training courses for as long as you subscribe, you can access all the courses as many times as you like and as many people within your organisation as you like can access the material, however the certificate issued will only be in the name of the subscriber. If you wish to go for a corporate subscription that covers multiple users at a discounted price, please let us know and we will discuss your requirements with you, we are happy to help. Thank you.

  • What form does the training material take?

    Much of our training material is in video form, this may be presented by a trainer, it may be in the form of a narrated presentation, or it may be a video of tests or tasks being performed on a vehicle. You can start and stop the video as many times as you want. You can also log out and come back to any course at any time during your access, and pick up where you left off, the system knows where you left off in a particular module. Some of the material may be PDF files for you to download and use whilst others may be in Powerpoint form, where you click through the course at your own pace. We will have an introduction video at the start of each course that will guide you through how the course works, whether there are items you need to download and also whether we ask you to have equipment, vehicles or parts available to carry out tasks upon.

  • Can I ask questions during a course?

    The courses are all pre-recorded, so live questioning is not available, however our trainers are always on hand, so we suggest that if you have any questions, queries or suggestion, please contact us on info@techknowservices.co.uk or use the support link above, and we will happily answer all your questions, we will happily admit we can't know all the answers, but we'll find out what you want to know and come back to you as soon as we can.

  • How do I contact Tech Know Training Services?

  • I can't find the course I'm looking for!

    We are adding course material just as fast as we can, it takes a lot of time to research material, make it into training courses, record and edit the material, create the online version of the course and the pages on here to support it, and to finally get it online. So if it isn't here now, it probably will be shortly. However, if there is a particular subject you'd like to see covered, please contact us via the support button above and we will look into producing it as soon as possible.

  • Why aren't your courses free?

    It takes an incredibly long time to research material, find information, film videos for courses, edit that video, make it into training courses, record and edit the material, create the online version of the course and the pages on here to support it, and to finally get it online. Obviously this can't be done for nothing. I'm actually so passionate about training the motor trade that I WOULD do it for nothing if I could afford to, but like everyone else I have to make a living, so we price our courses at a level that we feel is very reasonable. Many others charge way more than we do, or have inferior material to ours, so we feel we are in the right place offering quality material presented by industry experts at a fair price.
